Talking to IRNA on Tuesday, Mehdi Abdollah Zadeh said that the convoy of 15 cars crossed the border post of Bazargan.
He added: "The purpose of the tourists is to visit Iranian historical monuments and tourist attractions. They began their journey from Maku to Tabriz and will continue to Shiraz and Isfahan."
In the five months of the Iranian year, some 788,000 foreign travelers and tourists entered Iran via Bazargan border, which is 46% more than the same period last year.
Bazargan border is one of the most important border crossing points for travelers and tourists in north-west Azerbaijan.
